My current motorcycle is a 2011 Suzuki |ntruder. This is my second M800. Previously I've owned Hondas, Yamahas, BMWs, Kawasakis, MZs, and even an old school BSA.
The cruiser motorcycle isn't mainstream in the UK. Its always been something of a niche interest. Personally it suits me. Contrary to what detractors might say, it handles well and can cover distant very effectively. It is not a motorway machine, but that suits me anyway. I hate motorways.
I've never pushed the top speed, but I'd expect it to top out at about 115mph or a smidgen more. Its not about out and out speed of course. Its a bike to ride all day at sensible speeds. 'A roads' suit the bike perfectly. I can truthfully say it is incredibly comfortable for all day rides. I've yet to get a sore aft-section riding an Intruder 800.
I've not made many modifications. I haven't felt the need. It has a HEL braided brake hose up front, Sintered EBC pads too. On the rear brake I've fitted Ferodo shoes.  I have also installed heated handlebar grips. The saddlebags are quick-release Klck-bag that carry enough stuff for a lightweight camping trip. Or stay in a Pod.
I'm hoping my next bike will be either a Triumph Thunderbird, or perhaps a Rocket. I'd also consider an Intruder 1800. The biggest bike I've owned in the past was a BMW K100rs 'flying brick'. I fancy trying something a tad OTT. I might live to regret it, but its an itch worth scratching!
